Formerly a Gala casino until it was taken over by the Rank Grosvenor group in 2013, the Grosvenor Casino Sunderland is a fairly large modern casino located in Sunderland’s city centre in the North East of England. It is close to Mowbray Park – the city’s municipal park - and also to the River Wear.

The nearest airport is Newcastle which is 22 miles away or there is also Durham Tees Valley airport which is 35 miles from the casino. Easily accessible by public transport, the casino is less than a ten minute walk from Sunderland’s main train station and the nearest Metro stop is St. Peters which is on the other side of the river. For those arriving by car, the Grosvenor Sunderland is just off the A1018 and the casino will validate your parking ticket from the adjacent Sunniside Car Park (via entrance on William Street).
