Casinos in Leicester

Some cities and towns in England have a large population but not many casinos to service that population. Others have a small amount of people and a disproportionate number of casino venues. Leicester sits in the comfortable position of having two casinos that, between them, offer the 380,000 or so people living in the city a decent selection of choice when it comes to games and activities.

Each casino is owned and operated by a well-known chain, with the Grosvenor Casino having a number of excellent slot machines and electronic roulette games. There are also normal roulette tables, including some in the venue’s high-rolling Gold Room. This is probably the one of the two casinos that you’ll want to head to if you enjoy playing poker. There’s a dedicated poker room on-site, complete with four tables that host cash games and tournament play on a regular basis. Unlike the other casino in the city, the Grosvenor boasts a restaurant with screens that show live sport.

The Genting Casino is what you might refer to as a decent all-round venue. There’s no poker other than the three-card table-game variation, but there are a number of roulette tables in both physical and electronic format. There’s Blackjack that is dealt by automatic shuffling machines, but you might want to head there anyway as there as a progressive with it that sees the jackpot steadily increase over time. Likewise, there’s a £10,000 jackpot on the slot machines, should electronic gaming interest you.

Some cities see their casinos spread out all over the place, but that isn’t the case in Leicester. Both venues are extremely close to the city centre and you can find them on either side of the Highcross Shopping Centre. They’re about equidistant from Leicester Train Station, too.
