Casinos in Derby

When the census was taken in 2011 Derby’s population came through at around the 250,000 mark. That will likely be because of companies such Rolls Royce having factories in the city. The people who work in those factories need somewhere to let off some steam, of course, and there is a casino in the city for them to do just that in.

Derby Riverlights, Morledge, Derby, DE1 2AY

The Genting Casino at Riverlights is a large venue offering with all of the classics you’d expect from a decent city centre casino. There are a whole host of American roulette tables, as well as numerous table games. These include Blackjack, three-card poker, baccarat and also some electronic roulette tables. They’re ideal for any of you that don’t like having to talk to people and prefer your own company but still want to put your bets into the hands of chance.

If you like poker, then you’ll be glad to know that there is a regular number of tournaments that take place at Riverlights. There are also daily cash games, should you not want to get dragged into the world of regular play that tournaments tend to entail. Occasionally, the poker room is shut but there’s still likely to be a cash game going on in the main casino.

Closed Casino

The Genting Casino Derby (Friar Gate), formerly located on 6 Friar Gate in Derby, is now permanently closed, leaving Derby with just the one Genting in town.
