Casinos in Plymouth
Some cities are reasonably large and have loads of casinos, whilst others are a bit smaller and have just one. It’s probably fair to say that Plymouth sits right in the middle of these two options, having as it does a population of just over 250,000 people. Consequently, it feels about right that there are two casinos for Plymouth residents to choose from.

That is even more prescient when you consider that the Genting Casino in the city is actually quite a small venue. Small doesn’t mean empty, though, and the Genting packs a lot into its relatively small amount of real estate. There are roulette wheels, Blackjack tables, Crazy4Poker and three-card poker tables for you to choose from. Add to that some electronic roulette wheels and the ability to hire Mah Jong sets should you want to and you’ve got a good night on your hands. There are also No Limit Texas Hold’em tournaments three times a week for the poker lovers out there.
Poker is a bit more of a feature at the Grosvenor Casino. There is a dedicated poker room where Texas Hold’em tournaments are held from Tuesday through to Saturday every week, plus there are additional cash games held on a regular basis. Head away from the poker and into the main part of the casino to be greeted by similar things to those offered at the Genting; three-card poker, Blackjack and both live and electronic roulette tables. The slot fans amongst you will probably find a few more machines to choose from here, though, so that may sway some of you.
Though it is a seaside town, neither of the casinos in Plymouth are actually all that close to the waterfront. In fact, they’re both about 10-minutes walk from the beach as they’re practically opposite each other. They are centrally located within the city’s shopping district and only a few minutes walk from the Plymouth Theatre Royal.
